The Heart's remedy

This last month has held two big losses in my life, and the months ahead seem to hold others still to come. I've taken my broken heart to the woods and the river, I've stomped around the neighborhood and brought my body to the mat at the yoga studio where I practice. And yesterday, when my wife sent me a picture of this little one, something unexpected came out of my mouth. Do you want to go meet her, I asked?

"The only cure for love is more of it," the poet, Jan Richardson, writes in her Blessing for the Brokenhearted. So bring on the snuggles, the tail wags, the nose licks, and the nudges. I'm choosing more love.
